Come Fly With Me -- Come Fly, Come Fly Away.....

to New York City!  Just back from a trip there that was the best present I could have dreamed about.
I'll blog each day one day at a time over the next few days and hope you feel like you went in my suitcase.  We flew into JFK on Jet Blue Airlines and can I tell you -- it is the Porsche of airlines.  Two and a half hours of uninterrupted  HGTV on my own personal TV, a bag of cashews, and real cranberry juice.   Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
From the terminal we took the airbus -- think Disney tram -- to the train station and caught an express train straight to Penn Station.  We threw our bags into the Bellman's hands and headed straight to Chelsea Food  Market (Home of the Food Network) http://www.chelseamarket.com/  for the launch of a new foodie magazine and book signing.

Me and Ree Drummond "Pioneer Woman" who beat Bobby Flay on a Thanksgiving "Throw Down."  She is a doll and so sincere with the 13,00 women who lined up to kiss her ring.
Don't you love the decor?  Vintage aprons strung all around.
Yes, Sarabeth was there too signing her cookbook.  Let's all say  carb-load heaven  www.sarabeth.com/bakery_breakfast_lunch.asp.

The market is a collection of gourmet shops in an old meat packing factory.  All of the holiday decorations were made from recycled stuff.  This huge star was made from box corners.  Wow.
On the way back to our hotel we passed another shop on my to-do list.

The owner who is as charming as the posters.  Who says NYC is unfriendly?  Not true!
I have already decorated my NYC loft a million times in my imagination.  Several of these huge vintage advertising posters will adorn the brick walls.  You really must stop by when you're in town!
We slept with one eye open looking at the view from our 31st floor room while visions of sugarplums danced in our heads. http://www.newyorkerhotel.com/

  1. I don't care what else you have to report. Meeting Ree will top it all. I adore her.
